Meet Steve Morris

Republican Candidate for the Cabarrus County Commission

Personal Background
Steve is the proud father of two adult children Mallory Anne Morris and Hunter Baldwin Morris.

He is the older of two children who were raised in Kannapolis, N.C. by Bob and Joyce Morris. His sister, Donna taught in the Kannapolis City and Cabarrus County Schools. His maternal grandparents, Arlo and Jennie Lee Stack Weaver worked for Cannon Mills and lived in Kannapolis. His paternal grandparents Wayland and Ola Harris Morris lived in Concord and owned and operated a community grocery store. Like his Grandfather Morris, Steve is a beekeeper. Much of his extended family lives in the Cabarrus area.

Steve went to work part time at Mills Florist while attending A.L. Brown High School. He attended N.C. State University, transferred to UNC Charlotte where he received his B.A. in Business Administration in 1976. He has been involved in business and community in Cabarrus County ever since.

Steve has chaired the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Cabarrus Regional Chamber and has spoke on behalf of the community numerous time in both Raleigh and Washington.
